Groupage shipping Dubai

Freight forwarders usually ship goods as a full container load (FCL) or less than a container load (LCL). If you have an LCL shipment to ship to a customer, there is no need to rent or lease an entire container to ship it to the customer. This is where the term group page comes into play.

In other words, in group shipping, each cargo container carries different LCL shipments originating from one port and delivered to another common port or another port. The operator of the group company reserves the container with the shipping company based on the quantity of goods to be transported. It is a 20ft or 40ft container.

What do you understand by BILL of LADING?

Once the cargo is loaded, the operator issues a House Building Bill (HBL) to all customers carrying the goods in the container. The operator of the group company then receives the original bill of lading from the shipping company .

Each LCL shipment has a separate Bill of Lading (BL) that identifies the consignee and consignee. On arrival at the destination port, these LCL cargoes are unloaded from the ship, cleaned and stored by the concerned cargo.

Advantages of using a group page service

  • The biggest advantage of using a group service is the low cost. Pay by CBM (cubic meter) or cargo weight only and avoid full container charges.

  • Bulk shipping saves you money because you only pay for the space occupied in the container. Since all shippers transporting goods in such collective containers pay the same, the cost of transporting the container is shared by each shipper based on the CBM used.

  • No need to lift, pack and stack empty containers for loading. Shippers are spared the hassle of sending a full container to the port.

  • The ability to ship and receive smaller quantities is beneficial to both sellers and customers, as it eliminates the need to hold large amounts of inventory. Keep your inventory optimized. Grouping is a way to optimize container space.

  • Grouped cargo is usually packed in containers, so cargo is less likely to move within the container during handling or transport.

  • If there is empty space inside the container and the cargo is not stacked properly, the cargo can move around and damage the cargo as well as other cargo inside the container.

  • A reliable consolidator with a good network of operators will ensure that your LCL cargo is handled properly and reaches its destination safely.
